Kofi Black

Founder, Choreographer, Dance Instructor

Lester "Kofi Black" Twumasi. A Professional Dancer, Choreographer with the drive, determination and talent to reach his dream. His goal is to impact the lives of others with artistic expression. Kofi Black was introduced to Hip-Hop culture at an early age while listening to his father's record collection. At age 13 he started his dance journey where he was introduced to renowned dancers such as Christophe A and  Founder “Ground illousionz” Marcel “Frost” DaCosta. His love for dance grew even stronger which encouraged him to share his talent on many stages including opening up for various for artists such as Shawn Desman, Ray J, Devon Tracy & many more! Kofi has choreographed for So You Think You Can Dance Canada’s Judge Trè Armstrong's professional performance group D.A.E.I Elite, Mississauga’s Rapper Devon Tracy’s music video “Pop Up”, Lincoln M. Alexander Secondary School routine at Peel Dance Showcase & many more. As a Canadian Hip Hop Dance Specialist Kofi Black has also taught many workshops for Peel, Dufferin and Toronto School Boards and dance events in Ontario. Kofi loves to pass on his knowledge  with the younger generation. Working with at risk youth at a mentorship program Kofi has lots of experience resonating with youth to help build their character and confidence.

Jessica Maiato

Founder, Choreographer, Jazz Instructor

Jessica discovered her true love for dance at a young age. Her passion was undeniable, along with her dedication and perseverance.

 

She began her training with Ballet, and began branching into Jazz, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Dancehall, and more! Jessica has committed herself fully to dance, and has had the opportunity of assisting multiple highly skilled choreographers within the industry (such as so You Think You Can Dance Canada’s Lead Judge - Tre Armstrong). Jessica completed her secondary education, graduating from the Regional Arts Program at Mayfield Secondary School for the Arts.

 

Jessica’s passion has brought her many opportunities - which she is extremely grateful for. In the past year, Jessica was able to hold the title of Choreographer, Artistic Director, and Dancer for various promotional videos for companies such as, Titika Activewear Couture, BUDA Juice Canada, Namastetics, and more! Jessica is expanding, and continuing to work with multiple companies, using dance to help both avenues build and grow.

 

Aside from achieving numerous awards at dance competitions across the country , and performing at Olympic Events sponsored by Coca Cola - Jessica has also found peace in passing on her knowledge to the next generation. She has taught many workshops for Peel, Dufferin, and Toronto School Board - along with specialized technique classes and workshops for some of Canada’s Olympic nominated Gymnasts.

 

Currently, Jessica is fuzing her fitness background with her years of dance experience, and leading her own fitness programs and classes. Jessica has a true passion for spreading love and light - with a focus on empowering young girls and women, planting the seeds to help them see their true beauty and power within. Jessica can’t wait to continue spreading her knowledge and continue teaching the next generation of creatives!
